City Clerk/Treasurer

The Clerk serves as the link between Council and citizens.

The Office of the Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Kandiyohi provides clerical, record keeping and administrative functions to the Council and for the city. In addition, this individual performs many tasks that assist in guiding and managing the operation of local government policy and law. Below are just a few of the responsibilities of the City of Kandiyohi Clerk/Treasurer.

  • Manages requests to speak to Council
  • Collects information and prepares Council meeting agendas, packets and other information for Council
  • Collects, organizes, and maintains records
  • Records and submits Council meeting minutes
  • Works to develop the annual budget.
  • Implementing policies and ideas adopted by Council
  • Ensuring that all projects, operations, and functions within the local government & community operate efficiently
  • Ensuring all Local, State, and Federal laws are followed
  • Responding to citizen concerns
  • Perform budgeting duties, such as assisting in budget preparation, expenditure review, or budget administration.
  • Prepare ordinances, resolutions, or proclamations so that they can be executed, recorded, archived, or distributed.
  • Maintain fiscal records and accounts.
  • Serve as a notary of the public.
  • Issue various permits and licenses, such as marriage, fishing, hunting, or dog licenses, and collect appropriate fees.
